Today is a day for Buckeye fans to celebrate. It has been exactly 2000 days since Michigan last beat Ohio State on the football field. 2000 days is a long time. There will be two thousand chest bumps and and two thousand high fives today. I think there may even be a parade through the streets of Columbus. Beating Michigan has become the normal course of events and it never grows old for the scarlet and grey legions.Rather than argue that technically it has been five days since Michigan last beat the Buckeyes -- I will sit quietly and soak in the absurd celebration and the chest pounding and wait for the day that we all know is coming. It is coming. I promise you. It is coming.
In the mean time, we can chuckle amongst ourselves at their overwhelming narcissism. I found this article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer to be a perfect example of how recent success is clouding the perception of actual history:
"Since Thursday marks the 2,000th day since Michigan has defeated Ohio State in football, it's time to celebrate by delving into the storied past of the Buckeyes dominance of the Wolverines."Dominance ? Oh really ? I may need to re-check the definition of dominance, but I am fairly positive that term is not an accurate description of this rivalry. Just in case anyone wants to check the facts, Michigan leads the all-time series with a 57-42-6 record. Ohio State can win the next 15 years in a row and still only pull even with history.
Someday we will win this game again. In the mean time, let them have their fun. Someday I will have fun too.

"2000" is also the number of times a typical tUOS fan crapped during the BCS bowls against Florida and LSU.
2000 is also the number of fries a Buckeye has to sell before he gets promoted to assistant fry cook....
Didn't you have your day(s) during the Cooper years? I've never witnessed such wild swings in this rivalry. I wish it was more like the 10 year war where the winner was in doubt. I'm not complaining about the recent turn of events though;^)
No, thats how much it costs for a bachelors degree at the famed acamademical institution of OSU. Wait, sorry, I was a little confused,- thats how much players To$u players get for each sticker they are awarded for their helmets.
Wow. Who brought the grapes? The soil must have been a bit acidic. Gives "tart" a whole new meaning.
"2000" is also the number of times a typical tUOS fan crapped during the BCS bowls against Florida and LSU.ah yes, the typical."we weren't able to beat you, but that other school over there was able to....so there" response
Because Ohio State fans are so above mentioning teams that have beat Michigan...right? Didn't sales of Appalachian State shirts go up in Columbus and East Lansing for a while? I'm sure that had nothing to do with certain events transpiring at Michigan Stadium did it?
"we weren't able to beat you, but that other school over there was able to....so there" is a little bit different than "We've beaten you the past 3 years and probably will again this year, and we're going to make fun of you for losing to a 1AA school as well"
Yeah, that's so different....
The conqueror would ride a golden chariot. The dazed prisoners in chains behind him. A slave dressed in white would stand at his side and whisper a warning, "All Glory is fleeting". This is at the end of Patton. However, I think it applies to Buckeye fans at the moment....

personally, i think we should be more gracious about this. this is a really big accomplishment for most tosu grads and fans.
no, not the winning a football game 5 years in a row.
but finally learning to count to 2000? that's a helluva big step, even for their math department...
This is like Y2k all over again.
BAH,
the world didn't end then, either.
