While sitting on my couch enjoying "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" for at least the 35th time---it all of a sudden dawned on me.
Each week this season, we Michigan Fans believe. We truly think that Lucy will hold the football, and once and for all we will finally kick it. We are initially skeptical, then we measure carefully, then we commit and run all out......
Only to have the football pulled out from us yet again. Yet another loss, a wasted opportunity, a possible win that never was, moving ever closer to the wrong side of Michigan football history.
SIGH.
BUT, just like that eternal optimist, Charlie Brown, we will believe again the very next week, steadfastly believing in the goodness of a newly granted opportunity, knowing that with enough heart and gumption we really can kick the football! Michigan really will win this week!!!!!

who thought we'd ever start up a spontaneous tribute to Garrett Rivas? god how i miss all 5'9", 211 lbs of him.
i always refered to him as "Cupcake". my then 10 year old daughter asked me why & i replied:
"because everytime he makes a kick, Lloyd gives him a cupcake".
she immediately responded: "oh? so that's how he got so chunky?"
